In case you start your session with KDM or GDM you do not have to read on.
However if you start X from the command line or from XDM or SLIM, then this is rather important.

export LC_ALL=cs_CZ.UTF-8
setxkbmap cz
xterm &
#exec startxfce4 --with-ck-launch # starts XFCE
#exec /usr/local/bin/ck-launch-session /usr/local/bin/gnome-session # starts Gnome
exec dbus-launch --exit-with-session --sh-syntax icew# starts IceWM with a lot of goodies like gigolo working well
