OpenBSD is an early fork of NetBSD. NetBSD started from the same base as FreeBSD, but was different from the beginning, and the differences grow. OpenBSD shares a lot of features with NetBSD, just for example the audio mixer has the same syntax, compiling kernel works the same and many others...so certain things which are true for OpenBSD may work for other BSDs too.
